Kirk M. Neste and Stacy K. Takekawa have joined the firm as Associates

The firm is pleased to welcome two new associates: Kirk M. Neste and Stacy K. Takekawa.

Kirk Neste is an associate in the Litigation Department. Prior to joining Cades Schutte, Mr. Neste was an Associate for Faegre Baker Daniels LLP in Denver, Colorado. While at Faegre Baker Daniels, Mr. Neste was extensively involved in the representation of commercial fishermen and seafood business with regard to their claims arising out of the Deepwater Horizon oils pill, and represented several high-profile businesses in various commercial disputes in state and federal court. Mr. Neste obtained his B.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from the University of Washington in 2004, and received his law degree from the University of Oregon Law School in 2008. As a law student, Mr. Neste served as Editor-In-Chief of the Oregon Law Review. He also worked as a Judicial Extern to Judge Jack Billings of the Lane County Circuit Court.

Stacy K. Takekawa is an associate in the Trusts and Estates Department. Ms. Takekawa obtained her B.A. in Rhetoric and Film Studies from Whitman College in 2007, and received her law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawai`i in 2012. As a law student, Ms. Takekawa clerked for the Civil Rights Compliance Office of the Hawai`i State Department of Education, as well as the Animal Legal Defense Fund in Portland, Oregon, and she was the President and Founder of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund at Richardson. Prior to joining Cades Schutte, Ms. Takekawa clerked for the Honorable Derrick H.M. Chan of the Circuit Court of the First Circuit or the State of Hawai`i.
