Amanda Jones to Speak at SHRM Hawai`i Annual Conference
Cades attorney Amanda M. Jones has been asked to speak on wage and hour issues at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Hawai`i Chapter annual conference on October 9, 2015, at the Hawai`i Convention Center. The title of her presentation is Wage and Hour Update: Recent Decisions and Proposed Changes to FLSA that Employers Need to Know. She will be discussing the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed changes to the requirements for the “white collar” exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act, recent case decisions on wage and hour issues, and other timely wage and hour issues.
Amanda M. Jones is a partner in the firm’s litigation department and is a member of the Employment Law and Labor Relations practice group. She regularly defends employers in litigation in state and federal courts, in administrative proceeding before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Hawai`i Civil Rights Commission and the Department of Labor, and in union grievance arbitrations. She also advises management on complex employment issues and provides training for supervisors and employees.
