Marc E. Rousseau is a partner in the corporate department of Cades Schutte and has been a member of the firm’s Management Committee for the past 7 years. His practice focuses on business organizations, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, securities, and franchise law. Many of Mr. Rousseau’s clients are small to medium sized businesses founded by or majority owned by members of the baby-boomer generation. As this generation approaches its golden years, they are seeking to transition their family business down to the next generation, or if that generation is not the natural successor, then to key employees and third parties. Mr. Rousseau assists his clients in analyzing the transition alternatives, preparing for the inevitable transfer, and bringing an outside, objective viewpoint to the discussion while respecting intricate family relationships. Mr. Rousseau has been previously listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Public Finance, has been named by Chambers & Partners USA as one of America’s leading lawyers in the Corporate/Commercial practice area, and named a Best Lawyer in America in the practice areas of Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships) and Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and has previously been named Honolulu’s Mergers and Acquisitions Law “Lawyer of the Year.”
