Cades Schutte Welcomes David M. Nguyen, New Associate in Litigation Department

Congratulations to new Cades Schutte associate David M. Nguyen who recently joined our Litigation Department.

Prior to joining Cades Schutte, David served for four years as a military attorney in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. He advised on international and intelligence law in support of joint operations throughout the Pacific theater, including time stationed overseas. In this role, he counseled senior leaders on strategic decision-making, international agreements, and sensitive internal investigations.

David later transitioned to litigation within the JAG Corps, serving as an Army prosecutor. He tried numerous criminal cases in federal court, including a double-homicide case that received national media coverage. He also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, prosecuting dozens of civilian criminal matters.

David earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the William S. Richardson School of Law. During law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable James H. Ashford of the First Circuit Court of Hawaiʻi and worked as a research assistant to Professor John Barkai. He also interned with a U.S. Department of Defense Office of General Counsel branch.

David received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Dominican University of California and is a graduate of Saint Louis School.
