Cades Schutte is pleased to announce that Summer G. Shelverton was elected Chair of the Trusts & Estates Department, effective January 1, 2025. Summer joined Cades Schutte in 2012 and now leads a team of attorneys dedicated to continuing the firm’s longstanding legacy of serving Hawaiʻi’s families. The department focuses on guiding clients through their estate planning needs during their lifetimes and assisting with the thoughtful transfer of assets to future generations.
Summer specializes in estate planning, probate and trust administration, conservatorship and guardianship proceedings, and trust and estate disputes. She is a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), and a member of the Hawaii Probate Committee and the Hawaii Estate Planning Council. A leader in her field, Summer also served on the drafting committee for Hawai‘i’s Uniform Trust Code, which introduced and facilitated enactment of legislation adopting the Uniform Trust Code in Hawai‘i. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers® since 2019, and Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide since 2021.
